0845 dial-up facility available!
FutureServers have dedicated
dynamic IP 0845 dial-up numbers that are "high availability"
- i.e. you are unlikely to encounter engaged tones. There is no
charge for the use of this facility (either in conjunction with
a FutureServers domain/hosting product, or separately through
www.stampless.co.uk)
except for the charges that you will pay to your telephone provider.
As a guideline, BT charges an 0845 number at "local rate"
which approximates to 4p a minute during weekdays, 2p a minute weekday
evenings and 1p a minute at weekends. If you use a different telephone
provider you will need to verify the charges with them.
PlusNet unmetered services
If you find your telephone charges
for Internet access are exceeding £9 a month (domestic user) or
£20 a month (business user), and you have a BT line then you may
benefit from our recommendation of PlusNet unmetered services which
allow you to use an 0808 (free) dial-up service for a fixed cost
each month - however this is a contended service so you will
encounter engaged signals at times.
Fixed IP 0845 dial-up facility
NEW - Fixed IP 0845 dial-up facility. Many security advisors are now recommending the use of fixed
IP dial-up to facilitate increased protection for certain types
of business web access. FutureServers can provide such accounts,
for £25 setup and £25pa (i.e. £50 first year) and if used in conjunction
with our domain hosting services we will shortly be able to offer
SMTP mail delivery to your systems using that number. [SMTP mail
delivery is already available in conjunction with our domain hosting
services if you have fixed IP ADSL or other "always on"
connectivity].
